Matt Brunt has joined pteg as Assistant Director of the Support Unit. He will be responsible for developing pteg’s capacity for collaborative working across the PTEs, and leading on the rail, light rail and bus subsidy areas of pteg’s work programme.
‘I’m joining pteg at a critical moment in time – both in terms of PTEs taking forward the provisions of the Local Transport Act and with regard to the challenge we all face as the country comes to terms with the recession. How we work together to overcome these challenges will be the real test of our collective efforts to date. So I’m really excited to be part of the team and in helping the PTE family move forwards.’
Matt’s background is in urban policy and partnerships. He has extensive experience of working across a range of public policy areas, including transport, urban and regional policy, economic development and regeneration. Matt joined pteg from Yorkshire Cities, a policy development and research network for Yorkshire’s main urban areas. Prior to leading Yorkshire Cities, Matt worked in local government in a number of policy, strategy and partnership roles. He recently completed a Master’s degree in Urban Policy and Practice, including a significant research project around city collaboration.
