On June 8th 2017 Urban Transport Group (with partners) hosted an event in London where transport authorities from Jersey, the Netherlands and Australia set out how they had used bus franchising to improve bus services for passengers in a cost effective way. Nexus also presented on their experience of seeking to introduce franchising under the previous 2008 Local Transport Act (since superseded by the 2017 Bus Services Act).
