Urban Transport Group Director joins UITP Policy Board

Hamburg, Germany

Jason Prince, Director of the Urban Transport Group (UTG), has been confirmed as the UK representative for the Policy Board of UITP, the International Association of Public Transport.

The Policy Board has exclusive decision-making powers regarding the positions adopted by UITP in the area of public transport policy, as well as the determination of its Integrated Global Work Plan, which aims to address the challenges facing the public transport sector in various parts of the world.

Jason’s position was confirmed (for two years) at the UITP Summit, which takes place in Hamburg, Germany, this week.

Jason, who also sits on UITP’s Organising Authorities Committee, Rail Committee and UK Members group, said:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been confirmed as the UK’s representative for this group. UITP sets a high benchmark for how public transport can improve people’s lives, in all corners of the globe, and its policy work is vitally important in achieving that.”

UTG is a long-standing member of UITP, having joined in 2009 (when UTG was known as pteg). UTG staff also sit on other UITP groups such as the Marketing Committee and the Transport and Urban Life Committee.
