Gemma joined the Urban Transport Group in 2026 as Policy Officer. She works on key policy areas such as rail and active travel, contributing research, analysis and clear, accessible policy outputs to help shape national and regional transport debates.

Prior to joining UTG, Gemma worked as a Community Organiser for Citizens UK, working to build local, regional and national initiatives for change-making across public transport, housing and homelessness, and inclusion. She has also worked in a variety of roles across the community-led housing sector.

Gemma graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA Honours in Geography, with a focus on urban regeneration and social research.
